Mageek honoured with lifetime achievement award

Shurely 'lunchtime achievement' - Ed

INQ FOUNDER Mike Magee has been awarded a lifetime achievement award by a Facebook group of UK technology journalists and PRs.

The group announced what it calls its version of the Oscars recently and decided, presumably because of Mageek's massive contribution to IT hackdom over the years, that the plucky chap should get the top "Pressie".

Mageek, yesterday

Other awards went to Finnish phone firm Nokia, for the N95, which got best gadget of the year. Best technology woman of the year was some bird called Susi Weaser. Man of the year was apparently Stuart Dredge.

The likes of Rupert Goodwins - of whom more later - Andrew Lim
and Henrietta Thompson seem to run the group, which, if you dare sell your soul to Facebook, you can view here.

Mr Magee, is alive and kicking despite carrying on in Soho as if there was no tomorrow, last night. When asked if he had a few words for the Inq, he slurred: "Yeah. Don't post horrible pictures of me."

Sorry Mike, that's the only sort we have on file.

He has a bog here. µ

It's in the Bag

That bag looks suspiciously like one holding the Blighty version of a bottle of Two Buck Chuck. The look on Mike's face would indicate the bottle is quite empty.

That Photo!

...and there is already a hand reaching put from inside Mike's head, with a glass of red.

It's disappointing you didn't show a "full figure" photo. I wanted to analyze the pattern on Mike's kilt. You know, which clan...
---
Anyway, long time readers were not surprised about Mageek's appearance, as staff managed to sneak in the odd(!) photo of him, in the early days of the Inq.

The Final Payoff?

I have a sinking feeling that the infamous brown paper bag might contain hush money; so the 3 questions must be,

1. Which hi-tech company is trying to buyoff MadMikeMageek?

2. What does MadMikeMageek know that could be worth enough to ensure his retirement?

3. Can he really be taking up 'the missionary position' in Bangaluru?

As the Milanese say, Buon Lavoro!

That "bag"...

Actually I can reveal all (as I was sitting next to Mageek when that photo was taken :) )

It isn't a bag it was a present from Mr Hales which consisted of two Inquirer T-shirts, which he promptly gave away to Uri and myself :) You can see Uri modeling his over on Mageeks bog :)

Why brown paper? I guess Halesie thought it was appropriate.
