Facebook royal faker lands in deep dooh-dooh
Royal satire not approved in Morocco
A BLOKE who tried to do a 'Real Steve Jobs' on the King of Morocco's brother has found himself before a court.
Fouad Mortada, 26, has been charged with falsifying computer data and imitating Prince Moulay Rachid on the social notworking site Facebook.
Mortada said he admired the 37 year-old prince and set up the site for him.
However Inspector Knacker of the Rabat Yard took a dim view of impersonating King Mohammed's brother.
According to a web site supporting the arrested computer engineer he was blindfolded and taken to an unknown building where he was beaten, spat on and insulted.
Mortada's uncle Mohamed El Yousfi said that it was all a nightmare. Fouad is threatened, as well as his job and his family. He had no evil intent to damage the royal family, which he respects, he said.
Coppers claim that Mortada told them he had set up the Facebook account to get a date.
According to Reuters, Mortada claimed he only told them that to stop them from torturing him. The security services deny this. He was very cooperative.
