His Jobsness snubs fangirl

Did nobody tell him that manners cost nothing?

STEVE JOBS HAS taken a rare bashing from the Apple community for being worse than Bjork when it comes to having fan pictures taken.

Popular San Francisco tech/sex blogger Violet Blue approached Jobs at Macworld with the hopes of having a quick snap taken. Jobs was, of all places, standing around in the middle of the Macworld expo floor fiddling with his Iphone.

Approaching Jobs and asking if such a snap might be possible, Jobs curtly tole Blue - "That would be rude." And then turned his back away, whilst his PR assistant gave a pronounced snortle - which is obviously the polite retort amongst Steve's friends.

It has to be noted that if the man hailed as an idol to Mac fans walks the show floor at Macworld then gets annoyed when a fan says hello, then it seems that the trademarked Reality Distortion Field must pervade as far inwards as it does out.

Will Ferrell was recently named by Autograph Magazine as the worst Hollywood signer of 2007.

Find out the full details of El Jobso's flub over on Violet's (NSFW) blog. µ

Snapper

What has happened to journalism?

She should have taken the snap first, then written about how she got wrestled to the floor by the PR apparachik

Well...

... she asked the question so she should be prepared to get a no as an answer. He has the right to say no regardless of the situtaion.

Et alors?

So what?

She enjoyed it!

Well of course the great Steve has the right to refuse, but there are more tactful ways to do it.

What is sad to see are the number of fans leaping to his defence claiming "she invaded his personal space". To them I have one thing to say, "She touched his arm not his arse!". Furthermore, he should be grateful it was the former, given VB's line of work it might easily have been the latter...

Ah so thats what "Cool" means

I thought the Apple definition of "Cool" meant something completely different!

Good PR your lordship keep it up.

And this is new?

Steve has a history of being a erratic jerk. Not long ago stories about how his employees feared him so much as to avoid getting in the same elevator with him.

Well..?

I don't see how this is even making news. nobody has ever heard of this Violet Blue character as she is obviously very unimportant.

Something to add: I wouldn't mind seeing what phone he was "poking" at in this picture. iPhone perhaps? For some reason I just don't see Steve Jobs actually using an iPhone as his actual phone.

McFan

People are so inconsiderate. Jobs has been approached by so many people, it is hard to count.
The man was on the phone, discussing something important and this no-body comes out of the lowlife myst and interrupts his majestic MacNess(tm)
She would have been shot with a single click if Jobs had not shown polite restrain with his clever brush off.

What was she thinking?
Some people...

P.S.

Next time, if you must, don't ask questions, just hug him.

Take a page?

I happened into a Disney party at SIGGRAPH last year and approached Ed Catmull, of Disney and Pixar fame, for a picture and he happily obliged even with me smelling of booze:)

i-putz

In Jobbso's in defense- He was probably too busy just trying to find a signal on his overpriced bad reception iphone.

So what

If you're sad enough to want an autograph from the CEO of a business organisation, then perhaps you deserve to be snubbed.

He runs a company. He's not Will Smith.
