Andy Grove puts up $40 million to fight Parkinson's

Wants research to move faster

INTEL FOUNDER, Andy Grove is to bequeath up to $40 million of
his estate to fight Parkinson’s, the disease he has suffered from for several years. Grove will donate the money to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, started by the short actor.

In a statement, Grove said, "Despite decades of research, we have no known cure for any neurodegenerative disease today. Coming up with new treatments may require creative and even unorthodox approaches. Every interaction I've had with The
Michael J. Fox Foundation over the years has demonstrated their willingness to go where others may hesitate."

An article in the new edition of Forbes notes that some disagree
with his view of combating the problem, including the
pharmaceuticals researcher and blogger Derek Lowe. In
November, Lowe wrote: “If Andy Grove hasn't heard a pharma executive talk about all the wonderful things that are going to
be done by a given timeline, he needs to listen harder.”

The feature notes that 71-year-old Grove has had plenty of hurdles in the past. He is “a man who survived the Nazis, the Communists, scarlet fever, prostate cancer and Bill Gates to run what was briefly one of the world's five most valuable companies”.

However, Grove is still capable of humour.

"Cancer you don't see. This thing [Parkinson's] makes me look like an old man. And I'm a vain guy," he confessed. µ

Grove is a Great Man

Dr. Grove always takes on the good challenge with positive implications.

I wrote a useful blog post on a new means to treat Parkinsons, seemingly permanently reversing symptoms in the very limited trials as yet.

The blog post of mine (link below) is more like a compilation of information related to development this novel Parkinsons Gene Therapy method, and some very useful information - little known - that exposure to Manganese compounds (steel welding, certain stainless steels used in surgery and possibly inadvertently in cooking, Raku Pottery glaze processing and in food use, and in steel and other basic metals smelting processes ) seem to be causing a version of enviromentally induced Parkinsons like symptoms.

One could hypothesize that several of the high temperature diffusion processes in silicon wafer manufacture might similarly emit lwo levels of maganese - but this is mere speculation

Nervous Dispositions ….

Voodoo in origin or not, here’s the spiel on dynamic nervous illnesses [bearing in mind that knowledge is useless if there is no morality for then, the power behind the knowledge is not real/absolute]. Gravity, or the other name magnetism, is that which grounds humans and gives us our innate morality. One reason why those who stay grounded are always disposed towards sensibility, humility & chastity whereas those who are forever floating in dreams of achievements are the first to experience the undeniable lesson that teaches, “We do not own our body or else we’ll be the master of it”. The ability to abuse something does not signify ownership. It merely shows aggression or depression.

Magnetism’s sister, electricity, exists as nerve impluses within the body and electricity is collectively expressed as guilt in humans. When a human lacks chastity, say, and keeps transgressing against the boundaries of proper behaviour, morality, he develops guilt. Guilt is that which we know is wrong but refuses to relinquish it. Addiction to error is also called hypocrisy and humans are addicted to hypocrisy. Entities which lack true language capability can never develop guilt because they cannot think. Those who have guilt [and therefore also anger], must develop humility to bring them out of the condition/illusion. Only those who have no guilt, have no need for humility but looking at the arrogants, people might imagine that these must be gods. Whatever the case, arrogants/depressants will develop dynamic illnesses.

All nervous illnesses have origins in guilt [transgression against chastity] and those whose mental capacities are lacking, acquire it through the third factor in genetics, “the future”. When there is no absoluteness, there is only relativity, and as the very expensive, £100k++/annum fixer was overheard to exclaimed defensively and greedily, “If I know the cause for ZXY, I’ll be winning the Nobel Prize”. Yes, £200k++/annum is definitely better than a mere £100k++ but why stop at £200k++, go for gold. 40 mill is not enough for you can’t buy something as simple as Truth. Ever tried Innocence & Wisdom, which is free and innate within ALL? Doing away with pride, arrogance, achievement, fame, fortune, immortality, i.e. vested interests, is going to take some guessing.

My life with having Parkinsons

I have had Parkinson's since I was 33 yrs old. I am now 51. They had a good medicine that deminished visably the syptoms until they just discontinued it and took it off the shelf and replaced it with crap! Now I am like a 90 yr old man. The medicine they stopped making was selegiline (a GOD send). PLEASE if you can, tell them to put this medicine back on the shelf. I am about 50% disabled since I have not been taking Selegiline.

Rather help fight paranoia

I rather see Andy Grove put some of his enormous wealth, gained primarily by unethical business practices, to fight paranoia in the industry. He should start with himself by welcoming fair and open competition in the semiconductor business.
