LG Laptop explodes

Following Dell's lead

LG IS investigating a case of an exploding laptop.

According to Associated Press, LG Electronics and LG Chem, who makes the batteries, are a little worried.

As the press release says, under normal conditions this whole explosion thing should not happen.

Unfortunately it did, and, unfortunately for LG, the laptop in question belonged to a Korean journalist. The story dropped in his lap as we say in the trade.

Anyway, the men in black swooped on the hack and carried the laptop off for rigourous probing.

So far LG has not said what it found, but has said that it will work with a third-party organisation to provide an independent assessment.

It is pretty sure that it is not its fault. Maybe the hack was typing too fast on a hot story. Or maybe he got fag ash between the keys.

They are not telling which model of laptop did the exploding either.

More here. µ
