Hack your Eee for bluetooth

Strip and solder

LOVE THAT ASUS EEE PC but aggravated at the lack of bluetooth? Well, sure, you could add a USB dongle or even use a mini PCI card, but why do anything simple when you can do it the hard way?

This mod breaks open the Eee, strips open a USB dongle and solders the two together with teeny tiny little wires. By hooking up the module to a 5V trace on the board, it is powered up and good to go.

Having a bluetooth module means the Eee can be hooked up to a mobile phone for wireless internet access, which is a rather neat option for such a portable machine.

Break out your soldering irons and check out the instructions here. µ
