Windows Live lumbers out of beta

If you can call this living

MICROSOFT has taken its Windows Live package out of beta claiming the the package of free desktop programs for e-mail, instant messaging, blogging and sharing photos is a "upgrade for Windows".

The package includes Windows Live Mail, which can grab messages from several free Web-based e-mail accounts, including Microsoft's Hotmail, Google Gmail and AOL e-mail.

It allows punters to read and respond to mail even when they're not online and will fill a hole left by Outlook Express.

There is the Windows Live Photo Gallery lets users manipulate and organize digital photos and upload them to Flickr and to Windows Live Spaces, Vole's own blogging site. Live Spaces uses Live Writer, for writing blog posts, the Live Messenger instant-messaging program and Live Family Safety which provides parent controls for the whole thing.

Although the beast is out of beta there is not a lot of difference between the new and the old versions. It still looks like a Google clone in Microsoft drag.

According to AP, Microsoft is planning "one of the largest online advertising campaigns" to flog the service. He has paid for 10 billion Web ad impressions on Microsoft's MSN sites and third-party sites. µ

Windows Defender Again?

DAMN! The Windows Live this time is Suck. It's has 2 major draw back:
1. It doesn't have offline installer.
2. The online installer doesn't install on the Windows Server and or Windows 64 bit any kind. But if you use the cached temp hidden msi offline installer, it install just FINE.
To use the cached temp hidden msi offline installer go to your windows folder, then go to SoftwareDistribution\Download\Install. Just make sure you run the online installer on the appropiate OS first. If you don't have one. Ask your friends help or Download via softpedia.
Becarefull of corrupt when RESUMING download from softpedia. The Messenger is available in softpedia. The Photo .... [i forgot] is availble via MajorGeek. --> offline installer.
The online installer is asuming you have very high speed internet connection. It just save please what a few minute to finish about more than an hour.
Good Luck Jim :)).

Localizations..

I hate them. I trully hate them. And I want my software in english, as I can't stand all those new inventions in local languages.

So why can't they put an option to download version I like. Is it so hard to put in ONE SIMPLE DROPDOWN LIST with all the languages?!

Here, if someone wants english one, instead a localized one..

Oh, and if you don't have it, you'll need this one too, and a direct link might be of help since MS doesn't provide one clearly shown ANYWHERE.

Oh, and live.com still says BETA on front page :D

I'll comment on software once it gets installed :P

Windows Live Pack review

Well, if anyone would be interested I've just made a small review of these tools... So far, not a bad package. I've got to say - much better than Google so far...

WTF?

How does Microsoft manage to ruin even the simplest things in life?? Now Live Messenger takes 10+ minutes, two downloads and a restart to install!! What a piece of crap. What kind of idiots are behind this and how do they keep their jobs?
