780i slip-slides - into 2008

All eyes on the GT

THOSE OF YOU expecting to get your hands on the nForce 780i in just a couple of weeks can go and make yourselves another few cups of tea - the release date has been put back until December.

Those in the know suggest that the issue is with Intel's new Penryn processors - 780i might work with everything currently on the market, but a few bugs have glitched the chipset's compatibility with 45nm parts from Chipzilla.

It seems that in the bid to get 8800 GT out of the door and working properly - we know a few hardware benchmarketers who have been pulling all nighters pretty much working as free QA for the green team - the focus has been taken off the 780i and things have consequently slipped.

If things go well, expect to get a board in your Christmas stocking. If, however, the Graphzillans can't get their acts together, you might not manage to get your filthy little paws on one much before the middle of January. µ

MORE TRANISTORS IN CONTROLLERS!!!

It seems to ME that TERRASCALE 1,2, &3 has not been explained too well lately BY MSR. MAGME, so look here: http://www.news.com/8301-13579_3-9810358-37.html .

I mean in 2 years Ultie will be DONE & Massive core in developemnt, in earnst.
Adding touch for new card is great, yet probably like 5x or TEN Times number of TRANSISTORS Is needed in EACH Controller. right now its how little can do how little, WHILE ENTIRE FORMAT OF VISTA ULTIMATE IS HOW MUCH CAN O/S DO TO PRODUCE HOW LITTLE. so how many transistors can Each Controller be forced to operate with, HOW BIG CAN THEY BE MADE, AS soon enough they are going to be very big 7/iA80 MACHINES. So mere 6/iA4 has got to be eaSier than its being made out to be.
