RivaTuner upgrade is a must have download

Independent clocking of Shader units for GeForce 8 cards

A NEW VERSION OF RivaTuner (2.05) has just arrived, and if you want to explore advanced features of GeForce or Radeon series of cards, this is a must have download.

New version is now finally usable with R600 GPUs, since Unwinder fixed I2C write routine that was blasted by many users out there. 2.05 now has databases for ForceWare 163.69 and 163.71 versions of drivers, so if you like to be on a bleeding edge of driver revisions, you can freely use Rivatuner tuning app.

But what most followers of this application expected is now a reality - new UI brings independent slider for adjusting shader domain clock. Now you can finally overclock the shader units inside GeForce 8 GPUs regardless of GPU or memory clock.

If your GPU was locked at a certain level - let's say 8800GTX stuck at 630 MHz for the GPU, that almost certainly meant that the clocks of shader units would be stuck at 1.46-1.58 GHz, and now you can change this value, and clock as high as shader units would allow.

Also, if you're into SLI overclocking, you might appreciate a new mode for Vista.

Sadly, I do remember what 3dfx used to do for enthusiasts. Nvidia and Daamit could go into the back benches and learn something. µ
