CHIP FIRM AMD sent a letter to special master Vince Poppiti pointing out three dozen reporters cover its antitrust case against Intel and saying it's been careful whereas Chipzilla has been spinning like a top.

The letter names Chuck Malloy, described as Intel's communications head, and claims that he dismissed AMD's concerns as being based on "incomplete information."

Well we've got news for you. The man's name is not Malloy but Mulloy, and although he's worked for Intel for quite a while now, he used to work for AMD.

Said AMD's letter to Judge Vince: "These comments demonstrate a clear intent by Intel to use the press to advance its argumentation."

The letter, which is L'INQed below, claims that Intel has an "obvious double standard" it wants to apply to AMD.

Fortunately, here at the INQ, we're used to being the pawns in battles between different vendors over all sorts of different things, so we'll leave it to you to read between the lines.

Hopefully Judge Vince will exhibit the wisdom of Solomon and steer carefully between the different arguments. And also not drag any of the 36 journalists covering this case into court. Because, quite frankly, we'd rather spend two nights in Pentonville prison. µ
