Apple releases AirPort 4.1
An Apple spokesperson said that the software update provides improved AirPort wireless networking software, and is recommended for all users with an AirPort Extreme and AirPort enabled computer or an AirPort Extreme or an AirPort Express base station.
It comes with improved antenna output control, support for Keyspan's recently announced Express Remote for use with AirTunes and an AirPort Express hub. It also provides WPA security on WDS networks and means that USB printers connected to a base station can now be renamed.
Apple users can download it from their Software Update system.
The release will be a great relief for Apple's wireless users who had been stuck with version 3.4 which was widely seen as unreliable, particularly when using when using P2P software, and caused a loss of signal strength.
Most Apple users we have spoken to, who did not attack us with a chainsaw, said that these problems appeared to be fixed in the new version. µ
