Google says Dell is its secret weapon

Horripilate with fear, oh ye tiny Voles
GOOGLE has indicated that it sees Dell as its 'secret weapon' in the search war against Microsoft and has ruled out building a browser of its own.

According to eWeek, Google has been working with Dell neutralise the advantages Microsoft derives from Internet Exploder.

It also explains why Google was so quick to shout 'anti-trust' when Microsoft released IE7 Beta and didn't list it as the first engine you see when you install it.

Google boss Eric Schmidt told hacks yesterday that with this in mind, his company didn't need to build a new browser to take on Microsoft.

He said that people have some good browser choices already and Google will not build a browser for the fun of doing it.

Google was "ecstatic" with the benefits so far from partnering with Dell. When he said was a win-win, Schmidt said.

With Dell on board, Google can make sure that the first thing that new computer users see is its software. The Web browser that comes with the Dell computers will have a default home page created by Google and Dell.
