Cheap as chips Dell PC snapped
You can't really go below Dell's price when it comes to entry level. It is selling its Dell Dimension 2400 for the absolutel minute price of £199+VAT. The CPU is a 2.6GHz Celeron with 128K cache. Add in Windows XP HE, 512MB memory, a 40GB HDD, a CDROM and a 17-inch CRT and you have the perfect no frill new computer available... Err, only prob is that it comes with a three months warranty only. The same Dell DImension 2400 is available on Ebay for only £205 inc VAT and delivery. You do not get the 17-inch screen with twice the memory, twice the HDD and a DVD combo, you can't really be wrong.
Amazon is selling a Starlogic Multi Region 2.1 DVD player for only £19.99. This is a permanent promotion as it has been lasting quite some time now. It is also apparently the best selling item on Amazon. But don't think that it lacks any feature. It is multi region, plays US NTSC, has optical and coax bitstream SPDIF outputs, component VIVO and S Video as well as scart.
MeshComputers has also released its latest X2 based computer. The Matrix X2 will not ship until the first week of July but you can preorder.
