Blogger fired by Bastardstones

Employee bought to book
A WORKER at the British bookshop Waterstone's has been fired for bringing the company into disrepute.

Joe Gordon was fired from the company for "gross misconduct" and "bringing the company into disrepute," after he blogged about the company calling it "Bastardstones" and accusing it of slavery.

However Gordon said that he never identified the company by its proper name and he did not set out to attack the company.

He said it was all a satirical spoof, written at home in his own free time. The blog, called Woolamaloo Gazette, told of Bastardstone's, run by a manager called Evil Boss.

He told the Scotsman that it even says the article is satirical at the top of the page. He is planning to appeal against his sacking, because there were serious implications for free speech.

You can read all about it here. µ
