The INQUIRER guide to INQUIRER editorial

Here is the story

THIS ARTICLE gives new and existing readers a short guide to our editorial stance and to our approach to online journalism.

The INQUIRER prides itself on taking a different approach to other news sites, and we aim to present our readers with information that may well be years in advance, with no compromise reporting, to publish editorial other sites just won't get, and with no holds barred.

Our readers are very important to us. We positively welcome your feedback, and if you email the editor or individual writers at the INQUIRER, you can be assured of a reply, even if you're being snotty or have got up out of the wrong side of bed.

We've achieved our undoubted success firstly from our readers, and through myriad contacts, sources, known and unknown, quality deep throats within vendors, and through our journalistic team, with years of experience and through taking a no-nonsense approach. Unless we're writing a nonsense piece, because we feel our job is to entertain as well as to inform.

If you have comments or news you think we should cover, don't hesitate to drop any of us a line. We won't ignore you.

Opinion Pieces
We present a mixture of up-to-date news, reviews, commentaries and other material. When we publish an opinion piece, it will be clearly marked as such on the front page, meaning that the opinion or comment is that of the author. The INQUIRER may not necessarily agree or endorse the views in such pieces.

Letters
We always welcome emails from our readers, even the phlegms. We never publish readers' email addresses, unless specifically e-quested (sic). If you don't want your name published either, please indicate so. We reserve the right to shorten and edit emails.

NDAs
The INQUIRER never signs non disclosure agreements. Individual journalists who, from time to time, work for the INQ may sign them, but it's always on their own behalf, not on ours.

Links to our Site
We appreciate the many sites around the world who link to our stories and welcome this. If you do link, you're welcome to include either the first paragraph of the story or a short summary and a link back to our site.

Corrections and Complaints
We are always happy to run corrections on matters of fact. And sometimes friction.

Unsolicited Articles
We do accept unsolicited articles, but we're under no obligation to publish them.

Review Kit
If you would like your equipment reviewed, in the first case please drop a line to Paul Hales or Andrew Thomas.

Press Releases
Press releases may be sent to this Press Release email address.

INQUIRER Guides
There's more information at the INQUIRER Guide page, including a guide to the jargon we sometimes use.

THE INQUIRER is a totally independent online magazine, founded three years ago, and wholly owned by Breakthrough Publishing Limited, a UK limited company.

The editor, Mike Magee, was a co-founder of The Register 10 years ago, and has edited and worked on a very large number of IT titles. He is aided and abetted [surely assisted?] by a number of freelancers across the world with a similar bent.

Desire Inquirer

Dear Inquirer:

How do I subscribe? I will happily pay a fee. I get Slashdot and find it very useful. Having been introduced to the Inquirer, I want to add it to my news stream.

Cordially,
Alice
