No real mates? Get a Bogphone

JAPANESE ELECTRONICS MANUFACTURER, Sharp, today released a mobile phone in Japan aimed squarely at 'mobloggers'. Moblogging, or mobile blogging, is becoming mo' and mo' popular with boggers all over the world, allowing them to upload photos and videos shot on their phone cameras to their own websites.

Sharp’s latest release, which went on sale for the first time Friday, is the 922SH. The tiny 132 gram phone has a 3.5-inch display which folds out to the side and comes complete with a small QWERTY keyboard, so that it can be used like a tiny laptop; a very tiny laptop indeed at 56millimeters by 116mm by 17mm.

Blogger's delight

To make the phone even more computer like, the 922SH comes with a Web browser and an RSS reader, on a widescreen VGA display with an 854 pixel by 480 pixels resolution. It also comes complete with a 2 megapixel camera, 110,000 pixel sub camera for video conferencing and digital TV. There is also a shortcut phone key which leads directly to Yahoo Mobile.

Only Boggers who use Japan's Softbank Mobile as their network provider will be able to buy it, though, and Sharp doesn’t seem to have any intention of releasing the model abroad. So foreign boggers will have to find other ways of being antisocial. µ
