Ups and downs, no strings attached
A SPECIALIST computer shop off the Tottenham Court Road, Yoyotech, is celebrating today after landing a gong last night.
The shop was honoured as retailer of the year by a mag called PC Retail.
The founder of Yoyotech, who goes by the moniker CK, and can't half talk, said it was "fantastic to know that all of that hard work has been appreciated”.
“What makes this award special is that it has been given to us by the people who understand the industry most – our colleagues in the channel” he is said to have said. “They know the challenges that we have faced, especially in the face of ever increasing competition from the multi-nationals”.
The firm recently opened a 5,000 sq ft warehouse in West London to deal with its web businesses.
Having visited CK in his Windmill Street lair we can say that the shop is populated with a wide variety of geeks of all types and genders who all seem to know their stuff.
It helps to have a physical location where punters can browse, fondle and fetish, we find, as Dell has realised of late. Yoyotech's staff know their stuff and we know you can't say that of everyone flogging kit these days.
Congrats to CK and his team. µ
