Paranoid Android has a dream

MOBILE PHONE MAKER High Tech Computer (HTC) is developing a handset which will run Android software developed by Google and a consortium of other tech companies.

Yahoo News reports that sources close to the company let slip that the device will be called Dream, have a large touchscreen and a full QWERTY keypad. HTC rep Maggie Cheng pretty much confirmed the phone's existence by saying, "We cannot comment on this product."

Android is the "first truly open and comprehensive platform for mobile devices". Google T-Mobile, HTC, Qualcomm, Motorola and others have collaborated on the development of the OS through the Open Handset Alliance, a multinational group of technology and mobile industry leaders.

It could represent the first real challenge to Windoze Mobile. µ
