Futuremark makes a game
Ten years in coming

IT FINALLY HAPPENED, Futuremark, makers of 3DMark and PCMark are doing the thing they have been asked to do for years, make a game. Yup, as of now, there is an official Futuremark Games Studio.
There isn't much more to say right now, we know it can do the graphics side, we know they are smart guys, let's simply hope it is as good at gameplay as they are at shiny things.
FGS will be showing a bit more off at GDC, so we will know more in a few weeks.
After 10 years of waiting to get this far, 3 more weeks doesn't seem all that bad. µ

FIRST POST GUYS I DIDN'T READ THE OTHER COMMENTS HERE BUT WHAT ABOUT REMEDY ENTERTAINMENT, WHO SPAWNED FUTUREMARK? HAPPY TO HELP Seriously is it that hard to read the first comment where the same thing was already mentioned? God damnit, internet.
Also lets not forget the Finnish studio Remedy (Max Payne, Alan Wake) who spun off Futuremark if I remember correctly. Surely they can come up with something nice.

didn't the benchmark Aquamark derive from a game? That was a fair while back to. Good to know its happening though. Wonder what type of game they will go for..?

Okay, so let me get this right: The people who write software that beats the hell out of hardware are starting a game company? So, does this mean they're going to write games that only the top 10% of users can actually RUN?
...has anyone mentioned Remedy Entertainment yet? I'm glad that they're finally making a game so that people can no longer complain about their benchmarks being essentially synthetic.
