HAVING LISTED ITSELF on the Alternative Investments Market here in London last year, OCZ has been on something of a spending spree with the cash it raised. The latest acquisition is Hypersonic, a boutique PC manufacturer Stateside.
The cost of the purchase hasn't been made public, but Hypersonic's founder, Fred Cohen, seems to be pretty chuffed with himself. "The fusion of OCZ's groundbreaking memory and power technologies will catapult Hypersonic to a position of leadership in the performance computing arena," he reckons. Although he would, obviously.
OCZ will be looking to distribute Hypersonic to a bigger-than-US audience to capitalise on its brand name - and it won't be long before the company is branded as 'Hypersonic OCZ', we'll wager.
The memory maker previously bought up PC Power & Cooling this year, meaning its getting quite a portfolio under its belt.
A few more deets are here. µ
