Dell's dilly-dallying over XPS M1330 notebook angers punters

First punters were told it would take four to six weeks before they got it and now according to Dell's corporate bog www.Direct2Dell.com there could be more delays. But the delays surrounding the high-end XPS M1330 notebook have turned the blog into an outlet for complaints.

The notebook was released in late June and punters were told they should get them between four and six weeks later. Many readers smelt a rat, as that is a lot longer than most of them took to get Dell gear. Sure enough the delays got a lot longer.

Last week Dell told readers of the blog that it was investigating the delay and then suddenly the comments from angry punters over ran it.

When we looked there were more than a 100 angry comments. On Sunday, Alex Gurzen, senior vice president of consumer products said that some customers had got their $3,000 machines. However large scale production had not even begun yet due to some components like the LED display not being ready.

As one punter said it is pretty crappy to wait to let people know it will be delayed. Dell must have known that it was not even in the boxing stage when its staff were telling them it was still timed to arrive.
