A girl I know wrote gullible on the ceiling of her school. She kept telling people that the word was written on the ceiling - Charlie Demerjian
This comes after the game was delayed into 2006 from an October 2005 with the company siting "business reasons" for not publishing the game in 2005. As we reported back then, it was a little unusual that the game's delay coincided so perfectly with Jack Thompson's hell raising concerning its violent content.
Now, according to Mr. Thompson, "I have received word in the last two days from a credible source that Eidos has decided never to release 25 to Life."
This decision, if true, by Eidos is understandable considering the current political atmosphere surrounding video games. Though it is also a sign that the games industry itself may be lacking the backbone necessary to stand up and debate issues with people like Jack Thompson in a constructive manner.
So far the best we've seen is Rockstar's rather childish backlash at Thompson himself.
At the time of going to press we contacted Eidos' head of communications who claimed to know nothing about this and, rather surprisingly, nothing of Jack Thompson himself. Thompson's reply was that, "He should speak to the CEO of his company more often."
Of course, even if these rumours from Thompson prove to be incorrect, Mr. Thompson himself says, "If they haven't pulled it, we're gonna sue their butts." One of my favourite quotes of today. µ
