Gives government pirates ‘free software'
SOFTWARE GIANT Microsoft has given the Indonesian government an amnesty on all its pirated versions of Windows in exchange for a token payment.

According to the Jakarta Post, the government's more than 50,000 government computers running illegal software will be legalised at a buck each.

The deal will then see the government pursue software pirates more actively in Indonesia and launch a major crackdown.

The Vole claims it loses a fortune each year to Indonesian software pirates. The government is a little too poor to buy the real thing and for years has relied on software that was a little hot. µ
