Microsoft denies slimmed-down Xbox 360 rumour

Oh come on

It wouldn't be a good sales tact to let potential customers know they should wait for a newer model would it!

Like the little boogey men...

There are little boogey men just on the periphery of our senses, constantly plotting against us.

Should we stand still for a time, and quickly turn to spot them, they still manage to evade our detection.

And the fact that they are so eager to avoid detection only proves their nefarious intent!

My point is that you can't argue based on a lack of evidence. Sure microsoft might be hiding plans to spare current sales.

But someone could easily argue that they should be hyping the machine to push for monstrous sales when it does release (given that most people who would wait for such a product wouldn't have bought an xbox anyway).

Why do people listen to what they say not not how they say it?

"While we don't normally comment on rumors like this, we can tell you that we have no plans to release a new console in 2009".

Technically none of the redesigned chipsets are a new console. Sure, he's saying that there won't be a new console... i.e. Xbox 3... but he's not talking about uses of new chipsets or optical drives or even Xbox 360 SKUs.

He hasn't unconfirmed anything we didn't already know...
