1st picture road name

Too funny! I know this may sound juvenile and a bit "South Park" related, but the 1st snapshot in this article has a road named "Cockspur." Just in case (and keeping it clean for readers) ... in the US ... "cock" is a derogatory term for penis and "spur" is a small thorny weed (like a star with many rays). Thus "Cockspur" sounds like a thorny penis. I'm so juvenile but these things make me laugh during stressful days. I love "The Inquirer".

Just use a map. What the hell, I mean first the roads are marked out because - they're roads and they have signs, and some people still need automated instructions to tell them where to go.

I've seen plenty of dodgy roadsigns that are outright lies, but the info for those are the same sources used to program the sat navs anyway.

How do you get people to willingly put tracking devices in their cars, and pay you hundreds for it too? No, it's not a joke...

The one area they could be useful in, is in avoiding heavy traffic. Except in the UK it's not really possible to take alternate routes on any M or A road, that doesn't take you about 50 miles at least extra travel time. If there's a jam, that's it, there only is that road there anyway. Hence why it's impossible to get lost here - you have to really try to get lost driving in Britian. Take a whole series of B roads and don't look at the signs for example.

Tomtom.

I used to have a tomtom1, and after changing job recently had to get a new one.

I do over 1000 miles a week, right throughout the southwest of the UK, and spent 1 week researching satnavs. Indeed i was looking at the 920t.

I ended up with a Garmin Nuvi 710. its got most of the 920t's features, fm transmitter, tmc,large screen the lot for about £180!

It also picks up satelites from cold in a few seconds flat, something my tomtom used to take a long time, going from site to site this also helps alot.

I couldnt justify the cost of the 920t now. The only thing i will say is that tomtom maps are slightly more accurate.
