We're not adventurous chips.
This has become common policy for universities, government agencies, etc. You know your Volesoft's safer to use when the Vole announces it's ending support for it. You don't want to dig yourself a hole that the Vole can't get out of; this will only end in the Vole eating all of your chips in the dark. Better to not let their fodder see the light of day, to begin with.a sad day
Im sorry but this is stupid, just because a SP doesnt meet expectations lets just not bother with it.For the most part the SP is simply a SP, its a roundup of several hotfixes made througout the year, MS has released most of those fixes throughout the year, the only people that would see a significant change is those that havent bothered to keep up with each update!
Seriously, am I and all of my collegues the only people on this planet that are compertant enough to install and use Vista correctly?
Its simple guys, you take a PC that meets the recomended requirments, add any extras for your own requirerments, install vista, update drivers install software and patches then clone it for a backup. Install updates when released, update driver if needed.
In my own area of responsibility i have a lot PCs, combining those to that of my collegues we're talking several hundred more and we dont have many serious issues and no issues at all that I wouldnt expect from an Windows 2000 / XP PC
People, its a NEW OS, it needs a certain level of hardware to work, It wont be as fast as XP, just like XP wasnt as fast as 98 at the time, there will be patches for it, just like XP still gets updates, software may not work with it, just like old 16bit apps got the chop after 98,
IT HAPPENS, nothing will stay the same forever so get over it and learn how to use a PC properly!
The old rule used to be...
...don't install a new version of Dimdows until SP1 comes out. So does the rule now need to be amended to add, don't even install SP1 until SP1 for SP1 comes out?How much more badly can Microsoft screw things up? Or shouldn't I ask...
